The oil is extracted from leaves and twigs using steam distillation process.
Chemical Composition
Nerol, terpineol, neryl acetate, linalool, geranyl acetate, linalyl acetate, myrcene.
Oil Properties
The oil is extracted from green twigs of bitter orange plant and is in form of yellow to brownish yellow color. Having a clear liquid form, it is popular for sweet floral and herbaceous note.
Therapeutic Properties
It is versatile oil and has in it relaxing and uplifting feel. It also has affinity with skin that helps in helping with pimples, blemishes, acne, reducing spider veins and acting as all round tonic to complexion. It it also used by aroma therapists for cases of asthma, dyspepsia, fluid retention, headaches and migraine, insomnia, nausea, nervous exhaustion and stress.
UsesThe oil is used in perfumery and aromatherapy applications and has recommendation for skin problems like toning skin, clearing up greasy skin, in cases of acne as well as in excessive perspiration. The oil is also used in nervous exhaustion and treating stress-related conditions.
