The oil is extracted from the flowering plant using steam distillation process.

Oil Properties
The extracted oil is a clear transparent liquid that is colorless to pale yellow liquid in appearance and has fresh minty taste with a cooling sensation. The oil has many culinary as well as pharmaceutical uses and is highly recognized for soothing qualities on digestive system. Further, the oil has fresh, sharp, menthol smell and is of clear to pale yellow in color as well as watery in viscosity.
Uses
The oil has extensive use in treating cases of acne, colds, cough, asthma, bronchitis, cramps, exhaustion, fainting, dermatitis, diarrhea, fever, flu, irritated colon, headache, insect bites, hysteria, indigestion, kidney stones and gallstones. Other than this, the oil is also used in treating mental fatigue, motion sickness, migraine, muscular pain, nervous disorders, nausea, nerve pain, neuralgia, respiratory disorders, poor circulation, toothache, vertigo, vomiting.
