Extraction

The oil is extracted from the seed part through steam distillation process.

Chemical Composition

Anethol (present to about 90 per cent), sugar, fixed oil, choline, anethole, mucilage.

Essential Oil Information

Anise oil is derived from a plant native to Southwest Asia and Eastern Mediterranean region. With the oil extracted using steam distillation process, it is used as a constitution in Deodorants, Bronchitis, Muscle aches, Indigestion and others. Further, it is also used as a medicine and spice.

Oil Properties

Aniseed Oil is extracted from root of Anisum Vulgare and is a Pale Yellow to clear liquid that is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohols as well as other essential oils. The extracted oil is used in perfumery as raw material. Further, it is also used in symptoms like pectoral affections, coughs and bronchial tubes.

Uses

Anise oil is known for providing an amazing aroma in the food products where used. It is also used in health ailments like Asthma, Digestive Disorder, Colds, Vomiting, Insect bites and others. Further, it is also used in spa centers in form of facials, baths, massage oils. In aromatherapy form, the oil is used for treating fretfulness.

Therapeutic Properties

Anise oil has in it many therapeutic properties. This includes being antiseptic, antispasmodic, analgesic, carminative, expectorant, digestive, diuretic, stimulant, stomachic.

Caraway, Cedarwood, Cardamon, Coriander.

Summary

Anise oil finds application in treatment of ailments like coughs, colds, bronchitis, muscle aches, rheumatism and others. The oil is also a good antiseptic and also finds application in flavoring aromatic liquids. Other than this, the Anise oil is also a preferred option to provide safety against insect especially when these come mixed with Carbolic oils.
